prof.dr.sc. Taisir Subhi Yamin, eminentni svjetski stručnjak za darovitu djecu u posjeti Matematičkom svijetu

Jedan od najvećih svjetskih stručnjaka za darovitu djecu prof.dr. sc. Taisir Subhi Yamin, generalni direktor Međunarodnog centra za inovacije i obrazovanje te Nana Gulić koordinatorica tog centra za Hrvatsku posjetili su Matematički svijet i Coningenium.Tijekom svog posjeta prof. Taisir Subhi Yamin imao je priliku upoznati se s načinom rada Matematičkog svijeta i Centra Coningenium, upoznati edukatore te iz prve ruke upoznati se s našom metodikom prisustvujući na satu Bilingvalne matematike tijekom našeg znanstvenog tjedna na temu Newton’s Laws. Velika nam je čast što smo ugostili  jednog od najvećih stručnjaka u području darovitosti i kreativnosti u obrazovanju koji se u svom radu bavi poboljšanjem kvalitete, učinkovitosti, djelotvornosti i ravnopravnosti u obrazovnom sustavu.

Još nam je veće zadovoljstvo što je profesor iskazao želju da nas posjeti već tijekom slijedećeg dolaska u Rijeku kako bi nastavio druženje i umne razgovore s našim pametnićima. Bilo je inspirativno, zabavno i poučno! As expected with our ConinGenium kids!

Taisir Subhi-Yamin is a professor of gifted education. He has a B.Sc. in Physics, an M.A. in Special Education, and a Ph.D. in Gifted Education and e-learning from Lancaster University in England. He is the recipient of academic prizes and fellowships from Jordan, England, and the U.S.A. including a Fulbright Award (1996). Prof. Yamin is active in the field of science popularization, and has written ten books and many articles and research papers. In addition, he has developed a number of training packages to develop productive thinking skills.

He is an active member of an impressive list of academic institutions including:

the British Educational Research Association (BERA),

the European Council for High Ability (ECHA),

Bahrain Association for the Gifted and Talented;

President, Jordanian Association of Physicists,

the National Committee for Gifted Education;

 Founder, the Qatari Centre for the Gifted and Talented.

He is also the National Chancellor and regional representative of the International Association of Educators for World Peace. He was a delegate of the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children (WCGTC) for about ten years. In 2002 he was elected as a member of the executive committee of the WCGTC. Since 2005, he was named editor-in-Chief of Gifted and Talented International. Professor Yamin was involved in developing UAE project for the gifted and talented in Ulm university. In addition, he has established, in cooperation with Prof. Todd Lubart, the International Centre for Innovation in Education (ICIE-Paris). Recently, he is visiting Professor in the Institut de Psychologie – Université Paris Descartes. In addition, he has established four branches for the ICIE in: France, Sweden, Germany, and Turkey. He was also elected as the President of the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children (WCGTC).
